Hoy 19 de Octubre, Canonical dejará de dar soporte a Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn, pasando a formar parte del club que ya integran Warty Warthog, Hoary Hedgehog, Breezy Badger y Edgy Eft. Feisty Fawn fue una de las versiones que más ayudaron a popularizar Ubuntu. Algunos de ustedes todavia tienen instalado Ubuntu 7.04?

Siguiendo con las noticias Ubunteras, la primera versión Beta de Ubuntu 8.10 “Intrepid Ibex” fué anunciada, tanto en sus ediciones Desktop como Server. La primera incluye características para una vida digital más “móvil” con soporte inalámbrico 3G (GSM/CDMA) y sesiones para invitados que permiten que los usuarios puedan compartir recursos temporalmente sin comprometer su seguridad. La segunda consolida su soporte para la virtualización con un constructor integrado de máquinas virtuales, un stack Java completo (OpenJDK y Tomcat 6.0) y soportado y directorios encriptados por usuario.

Otras novedades incluyen:

  • Kernel 2.6.27
  • GNOME 2.24
  • KDE 4.1.2
  • X.org 7.4

El resto de la familia de los “Ubuntus” también se actualiza junto con esta versión, incluyendo a Kubuntu, Xubuntu, UbuntuStudio y Mythbuntu.

Se me habia olvidado hacer este meme, en la academia de software libre recordamos este comando y lo ejecute en mi maquina, dando como resultado….

María Verónica Lavieri, a Computer Engineer at the University Fermin Toro (UFT), Lara – Venezuela, has participated in national events, including Asovac Chapter Lara to work “ System Cooperative with Robotic Vision.” In 2004 Maria began a career as a university teacher, being a teacher of logic, and computer database and Polytechnic Institutes of Maracay. Maria joined the Free Software movement in Venezuela an active since October 2006, when became part of PLUG and ActivistasXSL, and organized the 3rd CNSL headquarters Portuguese

María Verónica is a enthusiasts Free software and XOOPS Spanish contributor. She also lead a female spanish web site called < Entiendelas > [2].

The First World Forum of Free Knowledge began in the year 2004 in the city of Caracas, and since then has traveled to Kerala (India), Maracaibo and Maturin to bring communities the knowledge, technology and the freedom of information.

In November this year, The Fifth World Forum was Held in Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela where the presentation about XOOPS was given by Engineer María Verónica Lavieri on November 22th. Our friend María Verónica represented XOOPS Spanish Community and her Linux Venezuela Group (activistasxsl) [1] in this conference.
